The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a state-licensed and accredited program which utilizes group & individual therapy to address the needs of clients struggling with substance abuse and/or addiction issues. The clinical model is evidence-based and employs a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches in order to best serve the consumer. Family involvement is also deemed a valuable aspect of the program. The client and the family both receive education on pertinent topics related to the presenting concerns.

The programs are separated into an Adolescent Program (ages 13-18, if in school) and Adult Program (ages 18, if graduated, and up).

Topics addressed in the psycho-educational component include the following, among others:

  • The Disease Process of Substance Abuse
  • Dual Disorders
  • The 12 Steps
  • Drug Refusal Skills
  • Triggers for Substance Use/Abuse
  • Medical Complications of Substance Abuse (HlV, Aids, Hepatitis)
  • Cross-Addiction
  • Recovery and Family
  • Natural Supports
  • Co-Dependency
  • Effects of Chemicals on the Brain

The clients attend the program up to four times during the week, based on clinical need. The hours for the program are 6pm to 9pm for the Adult program, and 3pm to 6pm for the Adolescent Program.
